FAQs

What does the Tractor Rental entail?

We rent out a Kubota L47 tractor. You will need to call the office (Monday-Friday, 8-4:30) to reserve the tractor and you must call at least 24 hours in advance of needing it!

Call the office for information on the tractor, availability, and pricing.

Is the Hardware store attached to the Mercantile?

No, the Arivaca Sonz Hardware store is located conveniently across 4th Ave from the Mercantile. It is owned by the same people that own the Mercantile, but it is managed by a local Arivacan named Rita.

Regular store hours:
Monday - Saturday 7 AM - 7 PM
Sunday 8 AM - 6 PM

Thanksgiving Day 11 AM - 1 PM
Christmas Day 11 AM - 1 PM

Do you take special orders?

In general, yes! Depending on the item, and the vendor we get it from, we may require you to buy a case of the product (ex: specialty beer) but will work to give you a case price. If you need something by a certain day or time, be sure to let us know well in advance so we can plan accordingly. We make no promises on special orders - they are filled on an “as-able to” basis. Payment not required until order has been filled.

Do you sell gasoline? What about beer?

We sell regular unleaded (87), mid-grade unleaded (89), diesel fuel (#2 Hwy), and we fill propane tanks. We also sell empty LP tanks (no exchanges).

We have ten cooler doors full of a variety of beer! We also have a variety of wines & wine-based or malt shooters.

I need something notarized; do you provide this service?

Yes! Our office assistant Kim is a notary. Her services are available Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am-4:30pm. Kim’s fee goes directly to her, we do not collect money for her notary service.

What is there to do around the area?

Arivaca is a beautiful, quiet place - the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge Cienega walking trail is in town & the Visitor Center is a short scenic drive away; a local Farmers’ Market occurs each Saturday across from the Mercantile; Arivaca Lake is just a few miles down the road; Ruby, Arizona (a ghost mining town) is a few miles past the lake and is absolutely worth a tour! Arivaca Sonz Hardware is now open, in case you need any other supplies. Outdoor enthusiasts, bird-watchers, hunters, and people looking to get away from the city hustle-and-bustle will enjoy the drive to Arivaca. Get lost and find yourself here!
